Your Local Black Country Wetherspoons has introduced 99p drinks

Wetherspoons will cut three drinks to 99p in their 671 pubs across England throughout November. This is to help attract customers to their pubs due to the impact lockdown restrictions have had on the business.
Chairman Tim Martin explained, “Our pubs are known for their excellent choice of drinks at value-for-money prices at all times.
“Throughout November, our customers will be able to choose from a great choice of drinks and save themselves some money too.”
The drinks that will be included in the 99p offer include alcoholic drinks, such as Ruddles Best, a 25ml measure of Bell’s Whiskey with a mixer, and a bottle of Beck’s.

For those that prefer soft drinks, there will be refillable hot drinks that will cost 99p.
In Scotland and Wales, bottles of Becks and Bell’s Whiskey will be 99p, but their real ale will start from £1.10 because of restrictions on minimum unit price.
These price cuts come at a time of rising prices across the UK’s pub industry. With VAT reductions being phased out, rising energy bills and higher wages for employees, Wetherspoons is going ahead with the price cuts on drinks.
Other venues have made clear that pints will be getting more expensive due to these extra costs.
Executive chairman of City Pub Group, Clive Watson, said, “We cannot absorb all these increased costs, whether it is the energy costs, whether it is food inflation, whether it is labour costs.
“The only way forward for us is to put the price of food and beer up in our pubs.”
